Leaven your awareness and raise the quality of conversations in the kitchen as you bake your daily bread. This unique dough cutter is made from food grade stainless steel topped with a section of a gun barrel and hand riveted together. The first in our series of “Barrels to Baking'' kitchen tools which is the brainchild of RAWtools South’s very own blacksmith, Alex Krug (who is also an amazing musician so check them out).

The 6” wide cutting edge is a comfortable 4ish inches below the handle. The weight of these varies with the kind of barrel used to cap one end of the stainless steel. When possible, we strive to preserve any lettering or numbering on the gun barrel. Early reports on these are that they feel great in your hands and hold up to vigorous baking and scraping activities. The blades are all stamped with an olive branch, the RAWtools South “maker's mark.” We’d love a picture of you making bread with this tool!

After washing, dry thoroughly and apply a thin coat of oil to the handle; any oil you keep for cooking in the kitchen will work! This will keep the barrel from rusting (no worries about the stainless steel section as it never rusts). If the barrel should rust, no problem: Just give it a light sanding with some steel wool, a scotch brite or some fine sandpaper and oil’er up.
